Still so much content to share with you. And now that my yelp and IM's are all promoting this blog so I have to get the conventional stuff up. 

For that we turn to The Black Reds. 

TBR was a sweet punk band from Flowery Branch, raised on X, The Desendents, Pennywise and all that Southern California punk goodness.
Here's some of the jams; I'll edit this with more content soon, I'm just pressed for time to get to the office.

Track 4 was one of Ralph's (from Barney's) favorites; a sentimental song about trying to keep a wife who just doesn't want to you anymore; written for Cindy.

I really should be in the shower getting ready for monday morning. I do have to be at my desk in an hour. I really shouldn't be listening to B-Boy Bouillabaisse thump with the porch door open and black beans and chicken cooking in the kitchen. It's not like I got money in the bank and could still get high.

Nah, feels/seems more like I'm one of the anonymous creatives, we fill our corner of the world with music and art but getting it to the other regions, even with the net? Gotta find a way to travel and spread the word thru song.

Earlier this evening I seen Calvin Johnson at Vacation and I seen Ian Svenonius hitting on girls (and making progress) 15 years his jr. Why? Because they were recognized. They had already accomplished some form of success and notoriety. I have not, or rather; yet to. I go to the shows, shops and cafes, and I am quite recognizable and relatively known; but still not for my creative merit yet; as I'd like.

No, for that I am still infantile, fledgling, new born, perhaps even still born if I wish to take a negative stance to my status.

But I do not. I will not blame my God or whine in disappointment and depression. My goal and aim is true. I know what I want to do and I may be the last splash, but I this will be the best one yet, you watch; to the Glory of my God.

James (@jamsmooth) does a fine job with the bottom end (especially for the "I'm-not-really-a-bass-player" type); Alan and I could only be CE by ourselves but boy this Jew stuff smacks of Cosmic Electric,if they were so inclined as to take the time to cruise craigslist for a full-timer.

This one felt real CCR/QOSTA sorta while in studio, but the release is the same muddy lovin' you get out of an 85Lives drop...especially this 1231 stuff lately. gez.

At least things go together. I'm at Inman Perk where I was mastering BSWS's latest offering, trying my best to not overly notice all the lovely young ladies, when I realized I was sitting in 30's dude row, all three of these dude's had rotating heads whenever a female walked by... gez. I'm pretty lucky to have sweet Jojo.

I've tried and I just couldn't say it better, but then you always knew that; sorta like an unspoken understanding, a coy gesture amongst friends.

But then the hardship sets in, the cold of loneliness, the chill of realizing that maybe you just weren't.

Where do you turn then? What's left? Sure you could keep producing and hoping against hope; wishing, waiting... but why.

And God, religion, spirituality? Really? Sure, why not. At this point it's all just survival anyway. It's just hanging around, seeing what happens. The promises of scripture kick in when you loose your desire. When you no longer want. And you've wanted your entire life. Somehow what you had was never enough, never quite satisfying. Inadequate.

And there you sit, broke and broken. yawn. Isn't it getting old, like you? There's nothing you can do that you're not doing or haven't done to better your fate. There's really only one way, and drempt about it all night...

A Beautiful life

Track 2 from Age Dif is a very CE number, with lots of Americana-Echo, T-Shirts and beer.

The hollar is all about a Utopian Americana; from the backseat of your dad's Datsun wagon, driving cross the desert, speed limit style. It's almost country, with its simple open G and swagger... of course the anthemic chorus would make Mike Ness proud, while Steve Shelley would like the big beat.

The best parts of you

I'm pretty darn happy with myself at the moment. I read the Bible on my iPhone at lunch and I really am growing closer to my creator. I still need to resolve a lot of issues, and really need to settle(?) with a mate, but by and large I'm doing fine in 2009.

I really dig this track, and I really like the fact that even now with a 9-6 day jjoobb, I'm still creatively fresh. Now I just got to find a way to get this to you. I want to perform and display my work this year.

missed opportunities

There's a whole story that contains caffeine, anxiety and longing attached to this track. You can/should be able to hear it within the synthesizer and slow ride (take it easy) drumming.

I officially spend time and pour more emotion online than I do in any human relationship. The online self suffers less rejection and abandonment.

(I know, I know, wha...)... still. That's honesty for you.

Oh, I'm going to stage the release of this for tommorow, since I'll be in the midst of my 9 to 5 and won't know what my energy/schedule will be like. Better seal in the freshness.

Wow; I'm honestly impressed; I mentioned to CE that they should send in remastered version of find out and I just got received it; they don't waste any time.

The vocals are more harmonic and they guitars more full, occasionally spiked with feedback drenched in anxiety but there is tons of tone (tones on tail) and the drums are punchier than ever.

It sounds like it was recorded uni-mic'd; which is not usually how these data-processor-software-developer-by-day types like to do things.


This is iPod worthy; and I'm going to take it accordingly. I can't wait till Phree Phorm is released!

Cosmic Electricserve it up in a surf's up sort of way; all whitewall's and fuzzy navels. Golden tanned and acne scarred.

Looks like the fellas took sometime away from winter to chase girls in the sun...

... and cherry flavored too; because you really like it when she do.... that thing she do.

Strudel your noodle dude, it's Hanukkah time; dude!

But you know, sometimes it takes so much effort; go to Pink's on La Brea and think about that for a sec.

Seriously though, this track has plenty or warmth, vigor, precision and howl. You'll want to cut through traffic with it on; top down.

slow drift to being alone

I'm pretty happy with this (Minus "you're Mom called; scratch that despite and with you're Mom called...). It's warm and reflects the sadness I'm leaving.

Some heated drama took place not long after the veggie burger/spinach wraps were consumed after the fundamental session.

Of course, I am not absolved; I have been known to operate on an intuitive, telepathic level; you should know I am currently recording; let the sound of the patty's in the Foreman be part of the recording, let background voice, but not... lol; nevermind.

See I'm doing it again; you're supposed to know that that nevermind was placed to prevent bad/hurt feelings as well as future lash-out.

All drama mediation, aside; this jam is pretty aight.

2009 will not be so sad and fatalistic. It will be a bit quiet, studious, focused and disciplined.

Love the delay in this jam.
