Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle

Recorded during the 122008 session at The Burbs mastered at 3443, this stuff really cooks.

It's got the gnarly carves and high speed hi-jinx you come to expect from these two but without all the obvious high quality production you'd expect from men who are IT professionals during the day.

Of course, you probably won't catch them on the bill at the corner hipster bar, or at those big rock festivals, trading bongloads with students, no these guys are full on men; complete with mortgages, child support and all the train-left-without-me lement you'd come to expect from men who wear chuck taylors and play musical instruments loadly while families are eating dinner.

You probably won't comment on this track and tell us how real it sounds and how you totally put it at the top of your playlist and rock it on the morning commute; no you won't mention how you fold laundry with it on repeat either; and that's ok; these guys know where they stand and they won't back down.

Headphones in love

Somber and carefree; this song has undertone and passion. If you don't get the budget recording aesthetic; you just don't know what it's all about.

It's all bro, it's all you. You're at the center, you can rock it or you can walk it. Choice is yours. You know you know what to do.Exactly. See what I mean? exactly.

It's coming back, and it's coming back in spades. Live to tell.

After all this time

Still mining the In The Burbs session from 12.6.08; here's a real gem.

After all this time

This jam is about unrequited love, and opportunities lost, never to return. The stabs and pricks of life; the moments you can't recapture; the things lost, there will be no other.

The reality that most of your life will be spent waiting alone is quite real, hence the art and the ability to create, hear and see things that may go undetected by the general populace.

It totally doesn't even seem like Christmas. I am so numb to holidays, having lost the people I used to celebrate them with.

Not to cry over spilled harvey milk; this is a really good cut, I think you'll like it.

I'm gonna find out

Wow; I'm honestly impressed; I mentioned to CE that they should send in remastered version of find out and I just got received it; they don't waste any time.

The vocals are more harmonic and they guitars more full, occasionally spiked with feedback drenched in anxiety but there is tons of tone (tones on tail) and the drums are punchier than ever.

It sounds like it was recorded uni-mic'd; which is not usually how these data-processor-software-developer-by-day types like to do things.

This is iPod worthy; and I'm going to take it accordingly. I can't wait till Phree Phorm is released!

Find out (early-demo)

The third demo release from Cosmic Electric's upcoming Phree Phorm; this track nails the rainy upliftingness of the Atlantic winters while wondering what Oregon could really offer (just so I don't have to explain that later; it's fleeting Yuengling speech).

Shorter in duration than most, this one delivers all the drum punch and guitar longing you'd be used to from a Cosmic Electric demo; of course I have no idea what you're "used to" since nobody tells me anything (ala comments)but I digress. This is clearly a selfish,self-serving blog and not worth your 30 second feedback.

Ouch, was that hostile? Feliz Navidad!

Without further reader beatdown; here's Find out

cherry-flav-bailout

Talk about timing,This jam is all summer fun in nana's garage!

Cosmic Electricserve it up in a surf's up sort of way; all whitewall's and fuzzy navels. Golden tanned and acne scarred.

Looks like the fellas took sometime away from winter to chase girls in the sun...

... and cherry flavored too; because you really like it when she do.... that thing she do.

Strudel your noodle dude, it's Hanukkah time; dude!

But you know, sometimes it takes so much effort; go to Pink's on La Brea and think about that for a sec.

Seriously though, this track has plenty or warmth, vigor, precision and howl. You'll want to cut through traffic with it on; top down.

Done? K. Here you go; cherry-flav-bailout

Low Hanging Fruit

Fresh from a recent session in at The Burbs, Cosmic Electric sent in a demo pre-release from Phree Phorm; the duo's sceduled 2009 release. I'm totally spend so I can't rattle on about the ethos of recording freshness and trying to break the blues-based norms of rock music.

Listen to Low Hanging Fruit for yourself.

Look for some jams tomorrow; heading to Alan's recording time; g'night.
