HAPPY BIRTHDAY CREED SEWELL!
Here is another track from the AMAZING 10/28/11 session at 322
Creed's modular bass work is a cannon between Alan's hi-hat and kick and Edward's curious synth-work.
Little production work went into this, we let the live recording speak for itself.
Yesterday's marathon of hours to get PRAIA DO FRANCÊS right (is it right? I don't think so, you tell me.) reminded me that 10/28/11 was this trio's first session of the session and found them in perfect improvisational form.
Enjoy and tell your friends, there's good loving at mid-night.
submerged by @85lives
The chosen artwork is from my friend from back in Yuma, Patricia Humphrey (from her FB).
She's the one in the middle.
During my Freshmen year registration, she was in line with me (she was a grade or two ahead of me), she had a pin on her bag, it said why be normal, I was instantly attracted.
I spent the rest of my years in HS trying to be part of her cool crew, but I was always the dejected skate punk from whose family went to the crazy church.
Enjoy your day Creed.

PRAIA DO FRANCÊS
I pretty much worked on this all day, I couldn't get the vocals right; either too
contrived, stiff or off-step.
I thickened up the tracks but made some mud so I had to strip them back down again.
I'm not sure if I'm completely loving it yet, I see the angles and like those but
I also have ideas that I just haven't been able express sonically yet.
I suppose that's a good thing.
From Psalm 29, 1 - 4.
From the 10/28 session at 322
Featuring
Alan on drums
Creed on bass
Edward on synth/vocals/production

Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.
The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is majestic.

let it go already
First track from a new collection; The beginning
let it go already by @85lives
The lyrics are flawless
let it go already by @85lives
The lyrics are flawless
Psalm 25
1 In you, LORD my God,
I put my trust.2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.4 Show me your ways, LORD,
teach me your paths.
5 Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
6 Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
7 Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, LORD, are good.8 Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way

time for a new way
From 322 on 10/23/11 after dropping the kids off.
Sort of a declaration about band status/social arrangements.
I WANT other players - you/they just have to be willing to work min. 3x a week.
Too focused to go back to the distracted and hobbyist.
Electronics don't require any riff/raff, just focus and flow.

telescope
Beat via my sweet 10yr old daughter Trinity on the Korg iKoassilator.
Synth by her dad on the Novation Ultranova.
Recorded via open mic thru GarageBand (iLife 11).
About 45 minutes from pressing record to getting it to you online.
numbers in his head
I made the Foundational beat at Creed Space: 10/19/11
Synth/more beats from 322: 10/22/11
"Ze Good German"
Creed has a guitar lick at the end.

duplex
sippin' Tanqueray from England and working on last night's duplex and it's tumblr debut.
total cricket's right? No Worries. That won't last. Soon enough, this will take off.
This track was foundationally recorded on 6/22/11 with Ted laying down the synth and Creed on drums. I thicked it all up in production on 6/24 (like just after midnight).

we had fun
The bandcamp says
The primary track was recorded at Creed's Space; exported as Ed's Mixxxxx.
Creed ProTooled an MPC beat and I played bass and guitar.
I took it to 322, thickened the beat, added some Twin surf guitar and the vocals.

patchy mornings in the fall
always a way (for Thurston & Kim Moore) album and band name
This is for Kim and Thruston, so don't want to see them get divorced.
They have been such an iconic couple to us, pray with me that something happens within their hearts and they go from separated to back together, we need some positive examples - divorce is never rarely a good thing!

An astute observation/contemplate the grey
I did this at lunch (FTC= from the cube).
I'm so spent right now.
contemplate the grey was the one from tonight with the new synth. I reworked it tons but I still couldn't get the drums and bass the way I wanted.
I'm so spent right now.
It really (could have used)needed Creed on bass but he's all I got my own space now so; I had to do all the pieces.
Not the first time.
I find myself moving more and more into electronics for that very reason, you can do it by yourself.
I spent years pining for consistent players, but none have really stuck (except Alan pretty much).
I'm so spent right now.
I think it's my determination to grow and play not confirm to a routine sound, and all that that entails that has made it difficult to maintain folks.
I like to keep trying new things. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't.
Creed, if you read this, know this is not about me, it's about the sound.
You're little room may be a cool idea, and we could try, even though it seems redundant.
Let'skeep working together.
322 has room and more instruments.
Next time you're hear I want you to bring headphones or wear mine to be sure you can hear your bass.
Good night friends.
I'm so spent right now.

CutnSnip
CutnSnip by @85lives
All those old folds way back then
"You only get one shot at this
Better make it last my friend."
And I lying full of regret
Wish I could change my ways back then
Nothing I can to get back
All the years we have left I know now
What is wrong with me
And I know now
How I can finally get relief
and die
In peace.

creditsGod Family Friends Intro bass was by Creed at 322 on 10/7/11; in the same session Edward did the drum triggering and synth. On 10/8/11 Edward did bass, guitar, vocals and production. Influenced by The Cure, The XX and my broken second family.

I rarely work on Sunday but I had to my new EV speaker that I got from @beatlabusa.

It's bueatifu; DEMO
A definite good time.
For some reasons, Creed's space bass was keep bleeding and drowning in my drum n' synth triggers.
I keep altering/moving settings and confirmed headphone playback but in playback he didn't stick out. Then he got behind the kit.
And Ginger got on the mic.
Nice.

Ginger - vocals
Edward - synth/production

From 322 on 10/8/11 - The track that was here is now hidden as bonus material on never my love, if you buy it then you get this tasty demo!

Steve Jobs
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on."The last track on keep on going is dedicated to Steve Jobs, who just died a few hours ago.

Alan orchestrating at the intro, and then with the big back beat from the kit
Creed with a big (dare I say it?!) funk bass
