Bon Voyage

Life is very much a journey, and you can feel it in the movements of time and space happening all around you. Enjoy it. Live it to the fullest. Love the life you live are the words she put on her body, embracing her new life, free from him, free to wander and do what she wanted when she wanted.

Drowning the sorrow she has created with her wantonness and feet that were eager to destroy her home. We'll all pay, in one way or another. Only children are innocent, and even they grow to become adults, usually replicating much of the lives of their parents.

Bon Voyage.

We wish you well.

Here, yugo.

♥ Vacation, totally

I ♥ Vacation! Kristen and Megan have just been super rad to me there. I was just over there and I met Bradford and Brian (aka Geologist from Animal Collective)!

Then I met a guy named Randy... yeah he runs Kirkwood Ballers Club and Tight Bros. Network. Wow very cool, people really do win on MTV (...er with Friends like Kristen)!

Kristen was like, "so you gonna run home and blog that you hung out here and met cool people"?... I was all, Totally! :D

fanfarronería? No!

We're gonna go dancing in the moonlight
I'll hold you close it'll be alright
We're gonna go dancing in the moonlight
Sweet, swaggering music is in the air
You and me and your long, long hair

Come here baby come to me girl
Let me whisper something in your ear

All nite, all right, all nite all right

fanfarronería? No!

Ok, I just logged onto my myspace for the first time since May... the new Deerhunter stuff? Total genius. I'm crazy inspired and perpelexed at the same time.

Megan from Vacation told me to put a pack together (3-6 CDR's - but I'm shooting for Vinyl)... and they'll sell it, see how it goes. Time to write the jams for real.

I want in

Don't worry about the gap. What I didn't say thru the song is that there is a woman who's love is true, so why should I wait for you?
You've acknowledged yourself to be self-centered and (perhaps due to fear) stuck to a fella you aren't attracted to, yet I chase you spiritually and emotionally since I've met you.
Yes there could be reprocutions, to this post, definitely there will be, but honesty rules (and it often leaves you alone).

I Want In

I wonder...

No comments, no ATC/Glassbury/McPool/Lalapolloza/Coachella... nothing. Yet I continue. Am I Don Quixote? Perhaps, and perhaps I'm the chap who cuts his ear off. Either way, without any clear indicator of fame or fortune, I continue. Hopefully I'm not on the highway to hell.

il buono, il brutto, il cattivo

I can control and alter time but yet you still will not listen.
I can keep you warm and fill your womb with life
But you choose only yourself.
Meanwhile the folly of youth is like the backs of fools
We know, we know, we know.

venido a mí

...The way your soft olive skin and long spanish hair light up the Barcelona summer sky and yet now summer is almost gone and my visa will soon expire. I must return to the States and you to Universidad. We knew this dance would have to end, even as we joked about who would feel the greater sting of the ending.

Remember this simple song...

venido a mí, chica joven bonita, quiero le y solamente le tome mi mano y déjeme ser su hombre

...yes.

to the (tres) version:

¡una transferencia directa para usted!... picosegundo la transferencia directa está solamente para la primera versión; you' ¡el ll tiene que preguntar si usted quiere transferir el tercero!

iJa ja!

Be the one you want

I've been drinking nylot for hours now (nylot is another 85L creation, 25% cherry publix brand nyquil, the rest cheapo Trader Joe's Merlot; small glass...) I've been shaking all over and considering relationships, the future, art and family.

Out of that I've missed countless phone calls from those who care about me (thank you, seriously) but I've also had time to write and record unpresumptiously, without pomp or circumstance.

Here's a sweet love song for a sweet fledgling duo, make them up as special trading cards if you can't relate, however, these experiences are given most humans, hence, the nostalgia.

This track sounds very VU/Atlas Soundish. I'd like to have drinks with Lou and Bradford and stay for more than 5 minutes.

NOTE: -this was once one post but I felt it had to be broken into two for ease of searchability and such

Later that year, another old friend, Mr. Allen Hewitt, a regular during the Flower Branch days, proved the superb drumming in The Hungry Heart b-side sonic jam that Edward titled, I now know what it feels like to be alone but not completely alone

This was a real favorite; the drumming was superb, the vocal melodies definitely rode with the rhythm and seemingly provided a third person.

Hey Allen, download this for Merideth's iPod.

Edward would later reflect on both Allen and Travis, even Eric and wonder why any of those combinations didn't become more than basement/warehouse/living room bands.

Yes these were all conceived as TBR jams...

Scene

Previous posts have turned you on to Scene, the Flowery Branch underground seminal power-noize band that never say the light of day; here are the last two tracks from our 4 track epic, platinum hip hit; Four Track Mind.

PS - Although the last track posted on this here blog had Cindy and I on the cover and Four Track Mind has baby Trinity on the cover with a happy Cindy on the cover, these posts in no way indicate a hang up. The past is the past, leave it there and move on. These Scene songs are merely history that should be preserved for future enjoyment.
I wanted to use the original cover of this recording and preserve its artistic integrity and spirit.

Here's the jams:

I'll make them downloadable if you ask nicely

10 should have been a BSWS jam but the idea came to after the fact and I just don't feel like double dipping.

La Trahison

excuse my poor pronunciation, but...

Finally!

The last couple of jams dropped on this blog are way dude, kid!

!0 is so sexy and danceable, I'm sure Keeley Hazell would totally groove to it, and You can't keep us down is just totally on for the cough tough crowd.

Visit me is very intimate and tender.

All these three are totally Yo Gusto... enjoy, and know there is more to come.

10

What more could be said? When are you most alone? You know when; when you seek perfection, absolute, perfection.
A; THE.
Perfect.

You can have it.
Go ahead.
It's yours
You know you want to download it.

You can't keep us down

Time to even the score, time to not be bothered by the plight of the greedy and focus on the cause. It sucks when your misunderstood, especially when your intentions are really good and your actions support that end.

You can't keep us down is sort of a lash out against those forces and people who seek to harm you.

download it here

Ah ha!

... and now I know perhaps why I haven't had even a single comment - the comment perms were set to not enable anonymous comments!

anonymous comments rule, guns are cool and we've got guns in our school!

Visit me

Through a un-foreseen twist of communication and events; I am home early on a Wednesday afternoon during the late summer of 2008.

God moves in mysterious ways.

A few weeks ago my kids and I recorded the following track; Arizona is on guitar, and Trinity is on the Maraca. I sang, programed the drum loop and played bass.

Arizona's guitar playing (he's 11) stole the show. The Maraca is playful and light. The mood is easy and relaxed.

Visit me

Here's the
download.

10.27.08 14:00:38 UPDATE : This track is a precursor to the whole VINEUZI thing.

Ferris wheel

Ferris wheel.... enjoy the stars... watch out for the carnie, especially if you're the only one on the ride... and exactly why is that again? Wait, out of choice of course. Nevermind that Mr. Springstein did teach us ain't nobody wanna be alone.... Just kidding, I made this all up. I have to say that, to protect the not so innocent.

For your ears only; Ferris wheel

You can download it.

Jericho & Krazy World

Good stuff from the past.... Travis, enjoy this.

Jericho

Jericho is obviously Pennywise/HB inspired.. Strong and upfront. Download; crap am I giving everything away? Yeah, actually.

Krazy World

Krazy World is more Devo than anything, maybe not as nerdy... Travis is not really mister internet so I don't know if he'll ever get to enjoy this but I will promptly text him. Laters!

(85X-Ray)Eagle Eyez

Here's a simple remix of Summer of 2007 classic, Eagle Eyez by Ed Banger's own, Mr. Flash.

It had to be done. I won't make it downloadable because I don't know if those French DJ's will be cool with dat or not... (I think they would, but I had a run in on flickr with a Vice dude so one can't be sure.

Enjoy (85X-Ray)Eagle Eyez via stream for now...

Vacation Gallery Girls

Based on a true story.

Allen and I went to the secret Deerhunter show last night at this place I'd been noticing by SF Coffee in Poncey. The place was called Vacation and turns out it's sorta like this no-rock cultural mecca of the ATL.

The crowd was very young and hip and I turned into that mute-cool-old-dude-who-doesn't-want-to-come-off-creepy-but-loves-the-energy-in-the-art. I barely spoke to anyone and Hampton says I have the gift of gab.

I ended up running into out friends the hola hoop girls and they combined with all the 20 something pretty art girls inspired this tasty little number...

Vacation Gallery Girls

Ok ok, here you go, download it and be happy.

In the old 4th ward tonite

Here's some shitalki jams for you.

The first one,In the old 4th ward tonite was recorded at AAT with Eric on drums and Kevin on bass; one of the earliest sessions for the short-lived shitalki of spring 2008.

There was a session toward the end of shitalki, I went to Kevin's to record, Eric was sleeping, and two b-sides were born;

Just like my dadd

and

Totally knew

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

This is the one; the first jam that Alan and I did as Cosmic Electric, the start of that sound.

AAT-ack!

AAT-ack is a series of recordings done at AAT which usually involved Eric on drums and David (Eric's dad) and or I on guitar.

This time features Omer on vocals, David on guitar, Eric on drums and Ed on keys and GarageBand

Stay on the fone is from the same session

My girl is from the last session Kevin and I had together. It was supposed to be a shitalki session but Eric was looking for cubicles instead. David did the bass thing and Kevin kept a beat

Want this? Of course you can download it!

BSWS - SE7EN

This will be an 85 Lives first, an entire album's worth of BSWS goodness (after this I might need a nap)... the album is titled, SE7EN

This stuff is great makes for some good headphone jamage.

Here's track 1; tt

followed by Phelt the world

3's the token dark track;Open

Up next; Kristen from Scottsdale (she said she wants to make it), sshh....

followed by Rustif

Almost over; but still not; Truly free

ending with something we all need, but never have; Salvation

Here's the downloader for the whole album; go home happy - meanwhile I'm depressed

Loner

Loner is a couple of acoustic jams recorded at Ben Harrington's house, by (ironically enough) Ben Harrington.

... is a punk is a cheeky rendition of great Ramones song, of almost the same title

The other jam was written by Edward Lund and is essentially I now know what it feels like to be alone but not completely alone, just more lyrically developed and slowed down for the acousticness of it all. The TBR line-up of Summer 2007 featuring Ben Harrington had this jam ( Allen and Edward did recorded it has Cosmic Electric); but TBR07 titled it El Bar.

It made perfect sense to name the accoustic version El(quiet) Bar

El Bar was Ed and Ben's favorite watering hole on Thursday nights during the summer of 2007.

Downloader available post humously if whoever ends up with LC's MacBook Pro gives a dang.

Hungry Heart

We all have special people and special experiences in our lives here on Earth. For those of us who's path leads us to make art and music, those relationships and memories can be illustrated and captured for others to see and hear, perhaps well into the future.

2007 was a particularly interesting (to be a be upbeat) year. Facing a separation from his wife, leading to an inevitable divorce, Edward Lund had some hard choices to make.

In typical fashion he considered his options in layers of rhythm and and tone, inflecting the pain he was going thru all the while trying to give his friends and family a different way to see and here the world.

Hungry Heart was recorded during the early winter of 2007, Feburarish, with the aide of Travis Rivers; a trusty friend from a few years before. Travis recorded this jam in his basement, he also played drums on it.

Edward sang and did the guitar thing.

Here's the downloader.

What Do I get & Exit 13

Ok, we're almost done with the TBR catalogue - and good riddance! Just kidding. That music was really honest and really good, and really under-exposed.
But such is life.

This first jam comes with the original TBR line up, Allen on the PDP trap-kit, Cindy on the SG bass, and yours truly on the red dot and on the mic.

We had Travis come over and record us, we were so giddy, well at least Allen and I were. Cindy was too cool half the time or not into it the other half... can't tell. I do miss her from time to time; she gave me a family, but then she took it away too.
My story might end alone, smashed on the front of a northbound Marta train leaving Arts Center; but then it could end up on Rob's House records and with the love of a woman I truly love.

Enough of all that, Kick out the jams!

What do I get?

This is a song I'd like to visit again someday... are you cool enough to comment with a reference?

Fine, you can
download it then.

Exit 13
This is a very B-side jam named after the exit of where Eric and I would play, the AAT office-space. Eric drums here, I do the rest.

Make it work

I almost like this track. It could actually make Yo Gusto if the supplementary percussion could be dropped or removed all together. I know I could do it but it's late and I'm tired and I want to have fresh content on here... Don't ask me why, it's not like anyone is even demonstrating public interest.

I guess you were right about me all along.

But I feel like a million bucks... so I gotta

Make it work

Downloader on this only if I reconsider or you ask.

I got me a pony

During the winter of 2008, say first 2 weeks in February, I knew this woman named Rachel. She sang, played bass, had good taste in music, fashion and art. I introduced her to my Korg micro-synth.

Our romance was doomed, I was fresh from divorce and she from a huge break-up as well; I had internal conflicts regarding what was really important to me and such.

We did manage to record.

Here's I got me a Pony. I play bass and do the overdubs on this one. The korg is all Rach and we both sing.

Rachel and I layed another track, the b-side; Just out of reach. I sing and bass this. Rach korg's.

I'll let you download... I got me a pony.

femme fatale

This weekend is already looking too be laced. Friday was dramatic and leading toward an abyss. Today, will find me in Buckhead doing Star 103 things; Miami parties and such.

With all the commotion, it's good to take a step back. Scene (Joey and I in the family trailer, remember?) recorded femme fatale during the spring of 98.

Enjoy

No downloader on this one, unless the comments overwhelmingly demand one.
I just scene her this morning, when I was walking Sushi... my heart skipped a beat. It felt so sweet and honest. She's the inspiration on keep on waiting.

Coast 2 Coast

Now this is a jam. Recorded with Joey on drums as the seminal 90's independent outfit straight from the trailer courts of Sugar Hill, GA; Scene brought it down.

Now Joey is a cat I'd love to play with again, he had the smooth surf/jazz beats down pat (no Pat, you're not down).

Rock this, Coast 2 Coast

What? You want to rock this as you Jazzercise? Fine, I'll let you Download it, but whatever you do, don't tell anyone!

whatever

FU.

This is all Kettle-One-Tonic, loneliness inspired one take goodness.

AND I LIKE IT.

I know I bash my stuff all the time, and I'm ok with it, because I compare my stuff with folks who do this full time, and I know I'm on that level without being on that level, but this is a good, honest jam. You'll probably never hear it on Star 94 but it's for real.

For your listening enjoyment, I present whatever

You can download it here, you know you want to.

FROM THE EDITOR: This is actually a Zee-LC jam.... an 85 Lives remix is due soon...

10.11.08 10:40:32am

PS - 3/27/10 edit: this one seemed to be more popular, for you're streaming pleasure:

ok so I told some of you that there would be new content every day; damn. Trust me, learning from my flickr, too much new content means that the pearls are left unrecognized.

New jam in about 5. No disty sales, OEM only.

Keep on waiting

This is a totally piece-meal jam; almost for dummies piece-meal. KFCish.

There's a nice hollowness and longing within it's spiraling layers, and it's based on a true story.

Enjoy it as you Keep on waiting

... of course the almost obligatory downloader... maybe someday the board will yank the downloads and go all 90's and stream for 56k only, have downloads based on demand.

Not now though, I got mouths to feed!

TBR played the Apache cafe during the fall of 2007 in a new band showcase type thing. The show was scheduled for a Saturday night and Eric and I got Hampton to get in on the bass side of things.

Inside this you'll hear un-recorded jams such as hit song and Thursday as well as family classics you know and treasure like waited all summer long and SThat gal'll make ya howl (tattoos & a behive on). Not to mention Ralph and his baby girl's fave jam Flat 9's.

You'll get some really garagey renditions of classics such as Just like heaven,Teenage kicks and Judy is a punk.

This recording, all just under 30 minutes of this offering is was recorded in one addy-influenced take. It's quite good.

Enjoy Apache cafe

As always, we're givers. Here, just take it, I don't care, really, take it, take it all, download it for your family and friends.
New jams coming out later today; I just couldn't finish last night, so spent.
Tell me you like this.
I'm still figuring out if I do.
some day's I love it most times I just think it's medicore crap.
Still, I'm compelled to keep on.

A hit will be born from this mess, just you watch and see.

Go for dat

Here's a remix of BSWS's summer of 2007 non-hit, depressed jam;

Let's do a shot

Let's do a shot was written during the summer of 2007 in the practice space that was once a married couple's bedroom. It feature's the always steady Eric Lynn on drums and a the bass wizardry of Mr. Ben Harrington. In fact the engineering is all Ben; back then I sucked at GarageBand.

Wanna keep it? I don't think so! Just kidding, here, go home happy... download it!

You know what? I like these crappy little jams! They have heart and soul. They demonstrate growth and expression. If they never get anywhere there are still totally worth doing.

However, there's bound to be a real looker in here someday....

All by ourselves

I did this last night while sipping a drink I created call Nyqlot; it's a 1/3 publix brand cherry Nyquil and 2/3 Trader Joe's 3.00 Merlot; served in a well glass, a glass that ended up in the prius after a night in the old 4th ward.

All by ourselves

Download , and tell your friends, you secretly like this sort of thing.
